Amherst Chamber to Host Downsizing Dialogue Tonight
Events, Politics

The Amherst Chamber of Commerce is holding a “Downsizing Dialogue” tonight with members of the Amherst Town Board and town residents who are interested in expressing their thoughts on the issue of downsizing the Town Board.

The discussion will take place at the Amherst Chamber’s office located at 350 Essjay Rd., Suite 200 in Williamsville from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm.  The event will be an opportunity to discuss the impact of downsizing on taxes and services provided not only for residents of the Town, but the business community as well.  The “Downsizing Dialogue” is free and open to all town residents and community members.

As an organization in Amherst, the Chamber feels that it is important to keep our community informed and educated on the issues that could impact their ability to live, work or play here.  We do not believe that downsizing is an effective way to save money for the Town’s taxpayers.  Rather, the Chamber feels that the Town Board should continue its recent service consolidation and privatization efforts as a more effective way to achieve efficient government.  The Chamber is committed to continuing to provide information to the voters of the Town so they are able to make an informed decision on November 2nd.

The “Downsizing Dialogue” is an opportunity to have your thoughts and opinions heard by the decision makers in our community.  For more information, or to register for this FREE event, please visit www.amherst.org or call 716.632.6905.
