Amherst Knitting Club Helps Mexican Students

The Amherst Senior Center Knitting Club recently donated 240 knit squares for Project Amigo in Mexico. The squares will be sewn together to be part of afghans for students who live in the mountains of Mexico and live in homes that have no heaters.

Project Amigo is a charity that supports students from rural western Mexico so that they can create their own educational opportunities and better their quality of life.

The Amherst Center for Senior Services is located at 370 John James Audubon Parkway in Amherst, behind the Audubon Library. To reach the Center, please call 636-3050.
