Open House, Derby Luncheon and Dance Workshop Coming to Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village

An Open House, Kentucky Derby Luncheon and Victorian Dance Workshop highlight a fun-filled May calendar at Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village, located at 3755 Tonawanda Creek Road in Amherst.

The annual Open House is a free event from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 5, featuring tables from all of the organization’s creative guilds and information on how you can become involved at Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village. Guests will also find information on renting the museum, becoming a member or sponsor, getting involved as a volunteer, and all of Heritage Village’s upcoming events! Brief guided tours will be offered at 6:15 and 6:30 p.m. Guests will also have an opportunity to meet the staff, Board of Trustees, volunteers, and twin Jersey calves Jack and Flynn! There will be a report to the community presentation from 7 to 8 p.m. and a reception of coffee, tea, water and goodies.

Art Show and Sale to Benefit Students Impacted by Loss of Funds

A Small Town Art Show and Sale, a benefit to raise funds to replace money allegedly stolen from the Pavilion Central School District Parent Teacher Organization, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at BW’s Country Club Banquet Facility, 11070 Perry Road, Pavilion. 

The show will feature numerous pieces of art donated by local artists and Pavilion students. There will be artwork priced to sell, plus silent and live auctions.

‘Nothing Here is Real’ is the Latest Release from Publisher No Frills Buffalo

“Nothing Here is Real,” the first novel by local author Matt Bindig, is set for April release by No Frills Buffalo publishing company.

Bindig was raised outside of Buffalo and educated at Hobart College and Harvard University. He lives with his wife and children in the Buffalo area where he teaches high school English.

Tickets Now Available for Annual Drums Along the Waterfront Event

Tickets for the annual Drums Along the Waterfront Tour of Champion event, taking place  on Sunday, Aug. 7, at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park, are now available online at www.drumsalongthewaterfront.org.

Sanctioned by Drum Corps International (DCI), Drums Along the Waterfront will feature the top seven drum corps in the world competing for the Tour of Champions title. Having an amazing 37 titles among them, the event lineup will include the reigning world champion Blue Devils (Concord, CA), Bluecoats (Canton, OH), The Cadets (Allentown, PA), Carolina Crown (Fort Mill, SC), The Cavaliers (Rosemont, IL), Phantom Regiment (Rockford, IL) and Boston Crusaders (Boston, MA).
