We Want Andy! Annunciation School Holding Food Drive

Students at Annunciation School, 7580 Clinton St., Elma, are collecting nonperishable food items — which will be donated to the Food Bank of WNY — in an attempt to bring Channel 2 Meteorologist Andy Parker and his Weather Machine to the school. Residents and businesses in the community are encouraged to participate by dropping off food items at the school office during school hours, 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The school donating the most pounds of nonperishable food items by December 7 will be declared the winner. Because Annunciation is a small school, community involvement is extremely important.

AmherstNightOut.com Lauch Party...A Huge Success!!

We had AmherstNightOut.com's Launch Party at 800 Maple Restaurant on Thursday November 11. We incorporated a fundraiser for the Amherst Youth Foundation, charging $10 a ticket, which included wood oven pizzas, hors d' oeuvres, drink specials, and live music. And we raised $790! We want to thank everyone that came out to support us, and the Amherst Youth Foundation.

Sunshine Saves Money for Amherst Youth Foundation

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Amherst Youth Foundation just flipped the switch on a new solar energy system that will supply 42% of the building’s electrical needs. The solar installation will save the youth organization over $4,300 in the first year of operation. The 108-panel rooftop solar array is expected to produce 24,847 kWh of electricity per year. That is the equivalent amount of electricity consumed by 4 average homes.
