Town of Amherst Police Officers responded to Walgreens, 2970 Niagara Falls Blvd, on 05/24/12 at approximately 2105 hrs to investigate a report of a robbery that occurred at the pharmacy.  Victim provided a description of the offender (attempted to conceal identity with sunglasses, hat and scarf) and stated that the offender demanded narcotics from the pharmacist, however no weapon was displayed. The offender grabbed a quantity of narcotics and fled the store.

Officers checked the area and were able to obtain a description of the vehicle that the offender was observed fleeing in from witnesses in the area.  Witnesses stated that the vehicle was operated by a W/F.  Det Lt JoAnn DiNoto located a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description at a residence on Glenhaven Dr and subsequently officers made contact with offender Bromley.  Officers also located offender Nemmer in the residence and he was provided with medical attention due to his condition prior to police contact.  Investigation revealed that Bromley was the driver of the vehicle that fled the scene and offender Nemmer was the other party involved with this incident.  

  • Offender #1:  Alexander J Nemmer, 23 year old male, Amherst, was arrested and charged with Robbery 3rd Degree (Class D Felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree (Class C Felony), and Grand Larceny 3rd Degree (Class D Felony).
  • Offender #2: Emily R Bromley, 19 year old female, Amherst, was arrested and charged with Robbery 3rd Degree (Class D Felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree (Class C Felony), and Grand Larceny 3rd Degree (Class D Felony).

Town of Amherst Police Detectives are continuing to investigate this incident.
