Amherst Police are Looking to Find the Owners of Recovered Stolen Property

The Amherst Police recently arrested the subject Richard A. Donovan Jr. “Richie” (photo below) who was employed as an installer and repairman for a Buffalo area heating and cooling business.

Donovan worked on furnaces, air conditioning units and back up generator systems. While doing service work on a furnace in Amherst, New York (Erie County) and a back up generator in Lockport, New York (Niagara County) it was determined that Donovan had stolen the resident’s jewelry, including gold and diamonds as well as silverware.  Donovan then dismantled or broke up the jewelry to make it look like scrap and pawned the items locally.

Donovan was arrested by Amherst Police and at that time was found in possession of additional items.  The Amherst Investigation did not determine the owners of these items.  Any one who may be able to identify the victim’s/owners of  recovered property in the photos below, please contact the Amherst Police Detective Bureau at 716-689-1340 or email to:  tips@apdny.org
