Amherst Police Looking for Two Involved in Using Stolen Credit Cards

The Amherst Police are for two suspects who used stolen credit card numbers over a period of time at several locations.

The two suspects are pictured in the security footage from one of the locations.

Two Arrested for Prostitution in Amherst Motel

The Amherst Police Narcotics Unit arrested two Buffalo women Thursday for Prostitution.  The women met an undercover police officer at an Amherst motel, where they each agreed to perform a sex act in exchange for money. 

Alice M. Triplett, age 48 and Amber C. Zandi,, 19, both of Norfolk Avenue, face B misdemeanor charges in Amherst Town Court.

Amherst Police Arrest Dyson Vacuum Thief

Because of tips from the public and information received from Lancaster Police Department and the Erie County Sheriff's Office, detectives were able to identify the suspect who stole over $1700 worth of merchandise including numerous Dyson Vacuum cleaners.   The crime was featured on the Amherst Police and several media Facebook Pages.

Detectives have arrested Chuck Echevarria, age 45 who was already in custody on unrelated charges. 

Three Man Arrested and Charged with a String of Burglaries

Amherst Police Detectives have charged three Cheektowaga men suspected of twelve burglaries in the Town of Amherst and the Village of Williamsville and at least twenty five or more in the towns of Akron, Alden, Cheektowaga, Clarence, Newstead, and West Seneca.

Kevin Zimmerman 23,  Jeffrey Zimmerman 29, and Alfred Tatman 26 all of Ellen Dr. in Cheektowaga have all been charged with burglary and related charges. The crime spree began in October of last year.

Traffic Infraction Leads to Misdemeanor Charges for an East Amherst Man

Michael J. Codelia Sr., age 46, of Berwick Lane, was arrested by Amherst Police Detective Edward Solak for failing to signal a lane change and suspended driver’s license.

Stolen tools and property from two unrelated victims were recovered inside his vehicle.  Both victims reported that the items recovered were inside their box utilities trailers when they were stolen.

Suspect Who Slashed Two Loss Prevention Officers Arrested in Syracuse

On Decebmer 4th in cooperation with the Amherst Police the Syracuse City Police Department picked up and held Dardrequez L. Haynes in the attack on two loss prevention officers at the Boulevard Mall on Sunday November 4, 2012   Haynes who is 24 years old is from the Syracuse area.

Hayes was returned to Amherst last night where detectives arrested and charged Haynes with Robbery 1st degree, two counts of Assault 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree and Petit Larceny.
