Town of Amherst Police Department is investigating several reports of a possible magazine sales scam that occurred on 08/24/12.  Several residents of a neighborhood off of Getzville Rd report that an unknown college aged white male with blonde hair came to their house claiming that he was from the neighborhood trying to sell magazine subscriptions to finance a trip abroad.  The unknown male claimed that the magazines themselves would be donated to American soldiers in Afghanistan.  At this point it appears that the suspicious male does not reside in the neighborhood and it appears that he is misrepresenting himself as a local college student.
