Amherst Chamber to Host Presentation on Health Care Reform

Amherst Chamber to Host Presentation on Health Care Reform

On Wednesday, February 23, 2011 from 8:30am – 9:30am, the Amherst Chamber of Commerce will host Independent Health for a presentation on health care reform.  Roberta Rifkin, VP for Government Affairs at Independent Health will speak to attendees on what is currently being done with reform on a national and local level and how it affects businesses.

Health care costs are continuing to rise, resulting in double digit increases and the health care reform law is currently in question.  As a community, Independent Health believes we must maintain our focus on achieving the objective of health care reform – increasing coverage, improving the quality of care and reducing the medical cost trend.  We must continue to work collaboratively and build on the foundation that we have constructed in Western New York to support sustainable reform.
