Legislator Rath to Leave Legislature at the End of the Year

Erie County Legislator Edward A. Rath III released the following statement on Tuesday, August 09, 2011 pertaining to his future with the Erie County Legislature:

“With gratitude to my constituents and respect for the political process, I will be leaving the Erie County Legislature at the end of the year. First and foremost, I greatly look forward to spending more time with my wife Amy and our three children, “ Legislator Rath stated. “I did not choose to leave the County Legislature, the reapportionment decision drastically changed the map, leaving me without a district. As a champion of downsizing I was fully aware of this risk, and I believe that a smaller Legislature is in the best interests of Erie County.”

Legislator Rath continued, “My private sector responsibilities have greatly expanded over the past several months and I will be channeling my energy to that work and my Western New York volunteer organizations. It has been a tremendous honor to serve in the Erie County Legislature.”
