Two Boulevard Mall Workers Stabbed | News
AMHERST, N.Y. - First responders took two stabbing victims to the hospital after an incident in the parking lot of the Boulevard Mall Sunday evening.
Two loss prevention officers from the Gap, according to Amherst Police, were in the parking lot attempting to apprehend three people for shoplifting shortly after 5 p.m.
According to police, a black male then pulled out a knife and cut one of the employees in the neck, causing a 3-inch wound. The other employee was stabbed in his side.
Amherst Police tell us the victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Amherst Police say the three suspects got into a gray Nissan sedan and fled to a nearby hotel parking lot where they abandoned the vechicle. Police then impounded the vechicle.
The suspects remain at large and the stolen merchandise has not been recovered.
The mall's general manager, Brian Calvert, said that the stabbing was an isolated incident.
Amherst Police have released the following descriptions for the three suspects:
Suspect #1: Black, Male, approximately 5'9"-5'10", thin build, late teens or early 20s, possible moustache, wearing a dark sweatshirt or jacket.
Suspect #2: Black, Female, medium build, late teens or early 20s.
Suspect #3: Black, Female, 5'7"-5'9", medium build, late teens to early 20s.
