Saul P. Greenfield, MD, Director of Pediatric Urology, Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo and Clinical Professor of Urology, University at Buffalo School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences has been awarded an additional $1.8 million for the National Institute of Health/National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases sponsored RIVUR trial for children with vesicoureteral reflux.
Dr. Greenfield is principle investigator and Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo is a major site for this important national project. This brings the total award for RIVUR to $4.8 million and will ensure funding of the project through 2013.
Total NIH funding to the Department of Pediatric Urology is now just over $5 million, which includes the recent award for CUTIE (Careful Urinary Tract Infection Evaluation)—an observational clinical trial for children with a history and urinary infection and no underlying structural urologic abnormalities.
