Photos Needed for Slide Show at "Mine" Screening Monday

On March 14 "Mine" will be shown at The Screening Room at 7pm. Admission will be $6, a portion will be donated to Maddie's Pet Rescue Project in Erie County, and a portion will support our local independent theater, The Screening Room.

Prior to the film I would like to put together a slide show of local companions that have been rescued from local rescues, or adopted from area shelters, like the Buffalo Animal Shelter, or the Erie County SPCA. I'll be putting together a slide show of rescued companions, and if you can include a short story about the rescue that would be wonderful, I'll include it in the slide show. The slide show will be shown prior to the film during readings from "One at a Time" and "Ninety-Five", from approximately 6:30 to 7:30pm. Readings will be conducted between 7 and 7:30pm.

Pittie Party to Benefit Black Dog, Second Chance

Pittie Party to Benefit Black Dog, Second Chance

On Saturday, March 12, 2011, Black Dog, Second Chance will be showcasing three of their rescue dogs at Animal Outfitters, 986 Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo.  "It's a Pittie Party" will feature three pit bull mix dogs that are looking for forever homes.  They have been in Black Dog, Second Chance's care for several months due to extensive medical needs.  Each dog is now healthy, spayed or neutered, and up to date on its vaccinations.

Karly, a 12 week old puppy who recently survived parvo, will be present to raise funds for her veterinary bills.  There will be a "Karly Kissing Booth" where people can have their picture taken with her to help off-set the $3,000 in expenses that were incurred during her treatment.  Evan and Rummy, seven month old siblings, will also be available for adoption.
