Get back to business in September with the Amherst Chamber of Commerce and Tools for Prosperity!

The Chamber's Business Resource Council is pleased to announce the fall 2013 series of workshops as part of its Tools for Prosperity program. Each workshop is designed to provide participants with information and skills that can be taken back to the office and applied immediately. The sessions feature interesting and engaging presenters who are industry experts on their topics.

The fall line-up for Tools for Prosperity includes diverse programing on topics ranging from customer service to crisis management through social media. Below is the complete schedule for the remainder of 2013:

  • Customer Service & Client Relationship Management presented by Dr. Joel Hoomans of Roberts Wesleyan College on September 5th. This class will examine the methods and means that ultimately contribute to best-in-class customer service delivery and customer retention.
  • Bullet Proofing your Social Business: Crisis Management for Online Reputations presented by John Pitts and Frank Gullo of Superior Group on October 3rd. This session will examine how professionals have used social media platforms to address crisis situations.
  • Branding: What is it Good for? presented by TJ Murrin, brand identity designer on November 7th. This workshop will cover the history of branding, the difference between branding, marketing and advertising and the necessary steps to successful branding.
  • Goal Planning & Execution presented by Anthony DeSimone of North Forest Office Space on December 5th. Anthony will lead participants in learning how to set measurable and realistic goals in clear and concise fashions.

 

All workshops are held at Roberts Wesleyan College's Buffalo Extension Campus, located at 6500 Sheridan Drive, Suite 106 in Williamsville. Each session begins at 8:30am and runs until approximately 10:00am. Registration begins at 8:15am. The cost to attend Tools for Prosperity is $5/workshop for members of the Amherst Chamber and $25/workshop for non-members. Additionally, for the second year in a row, the Amherst Chamber of Commerce will offer home based business practitioners the opportunity to earn a certificate of completion as part of the At Home Business 'U' program. The 2014 session will be offered in conjunction with the Chamber's Tools for Prosperity workshop series. By attending six predetermined Tools sessions, At Home Business 'U' students will receive a certificate of completion at the Chamber's annual Small Business Awards Luncheon.

The cost to participate in At Home Business 'U' is $129 and includes six, predetermined, workshops and one ticket to the Chamber's Small Business Awards Luncheon in May 2014. Completing the following courses will ensure the awarding a certificate of completion: Customer Service & Client Relationship Management, Branding, What is it Good for? and Goal Planning & Execution.
